Saxophonist and composer Chris Greene was born in Evanston, IL and began playing saxophone at age ten.

He was a young member of the award-winning Evanston High School Wind and Jazz Ensembles and in 1991, Greene went to Bloomington, IN to attend the prestigious Indiana University Jazz Studies program.

Greene returned to Chicago 1994 where he immersed himself in the regional music scene and has since collaborated with some of the nation’s most creative and versatile musicians.

Chris Greene’s latest release Soul and Science 2: Electric Boogalo features Greene on saxophones, Damian Espinosa on keyboards, Marc Piane on acoustic bass and Tyrone Blair on drums and percussion.

The quartet walks the line between more traditional forms of jazz and fusion while still creating a sense of originality.
