The new POWER RING™ Ligatures for hard rubber mouthpieces
Savannah, GA…..JodyJazz Inc has announced the expansion of its successful new POWER RING™ Ligature range. Originally available only for the company’s exclusive DV series metal mouthpieces, the range has now been expanded to offer POWER RING™ Ligature models designed for the most popular hard rubber mouthpiece models available on the market.
The new POWER RING™ Ligatures for hard rubber mouthpieces will be available in Alto, Tenor and Baritone sizes initially, to be followed later by a soprano version.
The JodyJazz POWER RING™ Ligatures provide an elegant solution to the problem with ligatures that dampen vibration of the reed. Like the POWER RING™ Ligatures for the DV Series, the new POWER RING™ Ligatures for hard rubber mouthpieces have greater thickness and heft which adds body to the sound.
The New POWER RING™ features a concave inner design which reduces the touch points on the reed thereby maximizing reed vibration. There are no moving or added parts, thereby increasing the efficiency of vibration. The increased mass and greater wall thickness of the new POWER RING Ligature, together with its more contoured shape, provides a more solid contact with the reed at the points where they touch. This allows the most freedom and vibration of the reed which in turn also increases the amount of harmonics present, allowing the fullest saxophone sound containing high, mid and low frequencies.

The new POWER RING™ Ligatures are individually CNC machined from virgin brass at the JodyJazz factory in Savannah, GA. Their standard finish is 24kt Gold. The new POWER RING™ Ligatures for hard rubber mouthpieces are available for Alto (HRA1), Tenor (HRT1) and Baritone (HRB1).
Each JodyJazz POWER RING™ Ligature comes with a deluxe pouch and all models have an MSRP of $59.95.
